Job Title: Field Engineering Manager
Location: Sohar, Oman
Travel Requirement: As required within the project site
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Field Engineering Manager with a minimum of 15 years of project engineering experience to lead field engineering activities for a major LNG project.
This role involves overseeing multi-disciplinary engineering functions, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring all project deliverables meet design, safety, and quality standards.
You will lead a team of 5 full-time engineers, manage external resources, and report directly to the Project Package Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise across multiple engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all engineering and design activities comply with contract requirements, project specifications, and industry standards
- Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary, multicultural engineering team
- Review and resolve technical queries, deviations, and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Support commissioning, start-up, and ICSS system integration
- Maintain quality control of deliverables, including As-Built and Red-Line documentation
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior project leadership
- Organize weekly engineering meetings and monitor project milestones
- Promote HSE standards and ensure full compliance with safety regulations
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in project engineering (including construction, installation, pre-commissioning, and site management)
- Proven experience managing large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of EPC projects, contracts, and engineering disciplines
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Excellent English communication skills (Bright test level 3 or equivalent)
- Ability to represent the project in technical discussions and negotiations
