Position Title: Sales Manager
Location: Sultanate of Oman / Al Khaboorah
Reports To: General Manager / Managing Director
Experience Required: Minimum 10+ years in sales and business development within agricultural inputs
Role Overview
The Sales Manager will lead and drive the commercial performance of the fertilizer business in Oman and selected regional markets. The role focuses on developing sales strategies, managing key accounts, expanding market share, and building strong relationships with distributors, farmers, government entities, and agribusiness partners. The position requires strong leadership, deep market knowledge, and fluency in Arabic and English to support local and international business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Market Development
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets.
- Identify and penetrate new markets, customers, and distribution channels.
- Promote fertilizer products across agricultural, commercial farming, and government sectors.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
2. Client & Key Account Management
- Manage relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and long-term supply agreements.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Handle major tenders, especially with government and large agricultural projects.
3. Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed targets.
- Set individual sales KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Support training and development in product knowledge and sales skills.
- Contribute to Omanization objectives within the sales function.
4. Sales Planning & Reporting
- Prepare annual sales plans, forecasts, and budgets.
- Track sales performance against targets and take corrective actions when required.
- Provide regular sales reports and market insights to senior management.
5. Product & Technical Coordination
- Work closely with technical, production, and logistics teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
- Support customers with basic agronomic and product application guidance in coordination with technical experts.
- Assist in launching new fertilizer products and solutions.
6. Compliance & Representation
- Ensure sales activities comply with Omani regulations and company policies.
- Represent the company at agricultural exhibitions, trade fairs, and industry events.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and agricultural institutions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in fertilizer, agrochemical, or agricultural product sales
- Strong understanding of the Omani agricultural market and regional fertilizer industry
- Fluent in Arabic and English
- Proven negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and distributor management
- Willingness to travel within Oman and the region as required
